Michael Markopoulos, MD

Dr. Michael Markopoulos, MD, is a family medicine physician and lead Physician at Coastal Detox of Southern California. He has a Medical Doctorate degree from Rutgers New jersey Medical School, and completed his residency at White Memorial Medical Center. He is also affiliated with Paradise Valley Hospital and Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

Dr. Markopoulos has more than 25 years of experience successfully treating a variety of serious addictions, including opioids, alcohol, prescription medications, methamphetamine, and cocaine, with deep experience administering the medications used in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).

With this span of addiction experience, Dr. Markopoulos has developed research-backed techniques and programs that provide successful treatment options for those committed to overcoming their substance use disorder. Dr. Markopoulos understands that quality treatment involves unique, specialized care that’s tailored to the individual. Dr. Markopoulos speaks both English and Spanish, enabling him to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
