Nina Cornejo

Mercedes “Nina” Cornejo is the Chief Executive Officer of Coastal Detox of Southern California. She personally handles intake and admissions for every patient to step through our doors.

Nina has been sober since September, 29 2011, and has worked in addiction treatment for over 10 years. In addition to Coastal Detox, she also operates several local recovery residences and sober living facilities. 

At Coastal Detox, patient care is deeply personal, starting from the very first phone call. When you call our admissions line, you’ll never reach a foreign call center or AI-generated answering service. Our commitment to excellence starts at the very first interaction. Nina is personally involved in every patient’s journey—from their first day in treatment through each step of the healing process.

With a genuine passion for helping others find lasting recovery, Nina leads through example. Her hands-on approach, compassionate leadership, and unwavering commitment to individualized care help create a supportive environment where patients and families feel seen, heard, and empowered to build a healthier future.

Nina grew up in San Diego, and studied Performing Arts, Abnormal Psychology, and Criminal Law in her youth. Today, she thrives by helping others tap into their full potential. She continually works the 12th Step by giving back to the community in every aspect of her life.
