Sara Hensley, CMA

Sara Hensley is a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a deep personal commitment to supporting individuals affected by substance use disorders. A San Diego native, Sara completed her medical assistant training in 2010 and began her career in addiction treatment shortly thereafter. Following her own journey through substance use and recovery, she entered rehabilitation in 2017—a pivotal experience that inspired her to dedicate her professional life to helping others navigate the path to recovery.

Today, Sara brings both her medical training and lived experience to her role at Coastal Detox. Motivated by a desire to give back and honor the loved ones she has lost to addiction, she is committed to treating every patient with compassion, understanding, and respect. Her firsthand perspective reinforces her belief in the importance of accessible, supportive care and the potential for lasting change.
